Tom Daley<\/a>\u2019s former diving partner and OnlyFans model Matty Lee<\/a>, a British Olympic champion, has officially announced his retirement.<\/p>\n

Lee has quit the sport at the age of 26 after a series of injuries and surgeries, losing \u2018passion\u2019 for diving<\/a> after the death of his father in 2022.<\/p>\n

He helped Great Britain clinch a gold medal<\/a> at the Olympic Games<\/a> in Tokyo alongside Daley in the men\u2019s synchronized 10 metre platform event.<\/p>\n

Lee, who spent a total of 20 years in the sport, was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2022<\/a> for his services to diving.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s time for me to step away from diving,\u2019 Lee said in an emotional social media post on his Instagram<\/a> account on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u2018This decision hasn\u2019t been easy but after losing my dad in 2022, I struggled to find the same passion I once had. He was my \u2018why\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Then came injuries, surgeries and the realisation that I don\u2019t want to be a broken man moving forward. Diving has given me the world, literally. The people I\u2019ve met, the places I\u2019ve travelled, the memories I\u2019ve made. That\u2019s what I\u2019ll cherish the most.\u2019<\/p>\n

Lee landed gold for England at the Commonwealth Games in 2022 with Noah Williams in the men\u2019s synchronised 10 metre platform event.<\/p>\n

He also won gold medals for Britain at the European Championships, European Diving Championships, European Games, European Junior Championships, Diving World Cup and British Championships.<\/p>\n

Lee underwent spinal surgery in March 2024, which ruled him out of the Olympic Games in Paris last year.<\/p>\n

The Leeds-born star joined adult website OnlyFans in 2023 in order to supplement his diving income.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Instinct Magazine<\/a>, Lee added: \u2018Remember I\u2019m a Team GB diver not a [porn star].<\/p>\n

\u2018So everything will be [safe for work] and a place where I can interact with you all.\u2019<\/p>\n

Lee, who also appeared on ITV reality television show I\u2019m a Celebrity\u2026Get Me Out of Here!<\/em><\/a>, has thanked his dad, mum, brother, coach and Daley following his retirement from diving.<\/p>\n

\u2018Your support, knowledge, and dedication never went unnoticed,\u2019 Lee said. \u2018To my closest friends. You never pulled me away from my sport, you lifted me up through it. Your support, laughter and belief in me meant more than you\u2019ll ever know.<\/p>\n

\u2018To my fans and followers, thank you for your unwavering support, through every dive, every challenge, every triumph. You made this journey even more special.\u2019<\/p>\n

Lee added:\u00a0\u2018And finally to the doubters. Thank you, too. You kept me hungry. You made me push harder. And in the end, I proved to myself that I could achieve more than I ever imagined.<\/p>\n

\u2018What\u2019s next? Honestly, I don\u2019t know. And that\u2019s both terrifying and exciting. But I do know this. There\u2019s more to life than diving and I\u2019m ready for it.\u2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
