Over the years, he drummed into me the importance of hard work and passion.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I felt the same way about boxing as Dad did about singing, and I pushed myself hard to become the best.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Barry also spoke about his father\u2019s death from cancer, saying: \u2018Dad died suddenly from cancer in 1987. He was only 52.
